So, my bout with nausea went on for awhile! Yes, I am expecting. I am now halfway into my 2nd trimester and feel much better and have been able to start using essential oils again. But also, with getting out of the habit of using them, I got into the mindset they didn’t do much for me UNTIL I had yet another experience that restored my faith in them.
My most recent experiences with the oils have been with Lavender and OnGuard. I didn’t notice the effect of Lavender until I started using it again. When I wasn’t using it, my nights were restless and I was waking up at leat 2-3 times each night. When I got back into my habit of smelling it before I went to bed along with a couple of drops behind my ears, my sleep became more restful and I have only been getting up 1 time each night. (To go to the bathroom of course.) Lavender may be used undiluted with pregnancy.
Here is an article from FOX News of 6 doctor-recommended sleep aids. It lists Lavender as one of the go-to smells to help.
Also with pregnancy, I read that gums change. I purposely skipped my bi-annual 6 month cleaning this last December for two reasons: 1) Anything going into my mouth made me gag so getting a cleaning is out of the question until after the baby is born! 2) My gums are not that great. They are more sensitive. I knew the dentist and hygienist would reprimand me for this.
I got some sort of sore or intense inflammation on my gums a few weeks ago. I started brushing with doTERRA OnGUARD Natural Whitening Toothpaste and also started applying 1 drop of a diluted solution of OnGUARD essential oil to the affected area. I diluted it because I am pregnant. Within a day it started to feel better and 2 days later that sore or inflammation is gone. Amazing! And all without ingesting harmful chemicals into my body.
