When I go to the dentist and the hygienist does her thing of saying numbers to the assistant about how my gums are doing, I usually have a lot of 3 and 4′s which means my gums aren’t that great even though I floss and brush every day. I wanted to try out this toothpaste and see if it helped the next time I went back to the dentist.
I used the toothpaste every day for a couple of months. It helped and hindered my gums, I think. I went back to the dentist because I thought I had a cavity. Whenever I ate something extremely sweet and it touched what felt like a certain tooth, my whole mouth would be in pain. I thought for sure it was a couple of cavities.
The hygienist did her counting of numbers thing. I DID have less 3′s and 4′s and more 2′s. So I think the toothpaste helped in that way. But I think it also helped too much. I did not have cavities. I had recessed gums on a few of my teeth. If you have ever experienced that, it is very painful. I think the toothpaste worked too well. The dentist obviously did not know I was using basically an unknown toothpaste, but he recommended I start brushing with a sensitive toothpaste and it has helped. He also said it could be the way I brush my teeth. I may brush too hard or not in circles. I don’t really think it is that because I have brushed my teeth the same way for 30 years and this just shows up when I switch toothpastes?
So, I probably will not be brushing with the doTERRA On Guard Toothpaste again. If I do, maybe it will be a once-a-week thing.

Lavender oil is known as the “go-to” oil. “When in doubt, use Lavender.” I use Lavender every day. I rub 1-2 drops on each foot before sleeping. I feel it is calming to me and gets me better sleep.
I am almost 34 weeks pregnant and this little girl is trying to make her debut early. I ended up going to Labor and Delivery last weekend to help stop contractions. I was cleared to resume my normal routine but have been cautious. I walked around Wal-Mart yesterday for a half hour and that seemed to set them off again. The contractions weren’t as close together and more sporadic than they were over the weekend, but nevertheless after 2 1/2 hours of resting and laying down they weren’t going away. I did not call my doctor because they weren’t regular. I decided to look up what it said in my Modern Essentials book. It said to drop 3 drops of Lavender on my abdomen and rub in to help stop contractions.
I did just that. You know what? The contractions started getting farther apart, not as intense and eventually stopped. I was amazed.
I go in spurts with essential oils. Some days I feel like they don’t do anything for me, and then I have another experience like this!

I have discovered another way that I love to use my essential oils. doTERRA offers a a hand and body lotion that is fragrance free. The idea is to combine a few drops of an essential oil to the lotion. The lotion is high quality and hydrates my skin better than my other leading lotion. And I only need about a quarter sized dab to hydrate my whole body so the whole bottle lasts me about a month.
In the morning, I like to use Citrus Bliss essential oil. It is an uplifting scent. At night I like to use Lavender essential oil to wind down.
As mentioned it is a fragrance free, light-weight lotion and perfect for hydrating the skin and is even more powerful when combined with an essential oil or blend of your choice.
